"
Helper duty" Points schemeThis point based scheme allows members to earn credit points by either supplying a helper whilst competing, or by carrying out duties themselves when not competing.
It is a fair way of recording help contribution by competitors, to avoid the "it’s always me" scenario.
These credit points earned will then, in turn, be "spent" on taking part in events as follows:-
N.B.
Certain helper duties cannot be carried out by persons under 14 year old.Credit Points
Credit points will be earned at a rate of 1 point per hour. For example a "helper duty" from 9.00-1.00 will earn 4 credit points.
Debit Points
One day Show-Jumping per Competitor/ Horse or Pony = -1 point
One day Showing per Competitor/ Horse/Pony = -1/2 point (half)
All Help duties are 4 hours long (standard), * 09.00-1.00 or 1.00-5.00/finish
*With the exception of an 0800 or 0830 start or a later finish.
For each event that takes place throughout the season, many hours of work are carried out behind the scenes by both committee and non-committee members. Therefore, credit points will also be earned by these members on an hourly basis.
Members who accrue credit points but do not "spend" them i.e. non-competitive members, may transfer these points to the account of family members only, unless that person is specifically volunteered for a duty by a competitor.
A "Signing-on" ledger, to record each duty fulfilled, is kept in the Secretary’s Box during event days-please ensure that you sign-in for each duty. There will be a penalty for non-attendance of a duty in the form of points deducted, therefore, it is in your interest to SIGN-IN.
A "Helper duty" points list will be on display on the website and in the clubhouse. Each member will be able to keep track of their "balance" and act accordingly when they see their it getting low.
After Liberation Day Show, an "Overdraft limit" of -3 points will be set. This means that you may not be able to enter any events until you have reduced your "overdraft" balance to within the limit by earning "Helper duty" points.
