APRIL NEWSLETTER 08

April showers have been the order of the day and disrupted what was a good start to the season. Unfortunately we had to postpone events and from the committee’s point of view there is nothing worse as all the preparation work has still had to take place. That said the heights jumping and rallies that went ahead were very well attended and were a great success.

Congratulations to those that made the teams for our Liberations Day show. It is good to see such great competition for places and new horse/pony and rider combinations representing their Island.

The teams will be competing at about lunchtime on the 9th and 10th so please come along and give them your support.

I look forward to catching up with you on Wednesday, 7th May at 7pm at the field when we will be holding pre show jumping drinks and nibbles – ALL are welcome to meet up with our Guernsey comrades and fellow Jerseymen!

Flowers

A huge thank you goes out to Abbie and her mother, who have done a fabulous job of the area around the Clubhouse and Canteen and the collecting ring. They have been extremely busy planting and arranging flower boxes and hanging baskets. I’m sure you’ll all agree that it is a great improvement to the area and the signs are very creatively decorated!

Signs

You will notice that we have put signs up around the field designating areas for horses and spectators. Please stick to these as they are there to minimalise risk and make sure everyone enjoys this sport in a safe environment.
